In Open Source BI Helical Insight application version 6.1.0.826 onwards, we have added one more mapping option called as
OpenStreetMap (OSM) which can be enabled and used apart from the Mapbox. In this document we will learn how to do the same.
We can switch to OSM maps by updating the map.properties configuration file. Follow the steps below to switch from Mapbox to OSM.

Step 1: Locate the Configuration File
Open the map.properties file from the following server installation path:
Step 2: Disable Mapbox Configuration
Comment out the following Mapbox-related properties (line numbers 20 and 22):
#mapbox.token=pk.eyJ1IjoidGFibGVhdS1lbnRlcnByaXNlIiwiYSI6ImNrY29iZjN6MzA4ZzgycHF6MHd0cXhyaXoifQ.rtfFAKyzk-qMYue5C-8RVA
#mapbox.style=light
Step 3: Enable OSM Configuration
Uncomment the following OSM properties (line numbers 4 and 7) to enable OpenStreetMap:
osm.token=free
osm.style=light
Step 4 (Optional): Enable OSM Tile Themes
If different map themes are required, you can enable OSM tile URLs as shown below.
#osm.tileUrls.normal=https://{s}.tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png
#osm.tileUrls.light=https://{s}.basemaps.cartocdn.com/light_all/{z}/{x}/{y}{r}.png
#osm.tileUrls.dark=https://{s}.basemaps.cartocdn.com/dark_all/{z}/{x}/{y}{r}.png
Uncomment the required tile URLs based on the desired theme.
Step 5: Save the Changes
Save the map.properties file after making the required changes.
Step 6: Restart Helical Insight Service
Things like heatmap, drill down, drill through, filtering and other set of interactivity can also be used with OSM maps.
