Adhoc designer allows you to just drag and drop columns from various tables, add filters and create reports on the fly from the browser itself. The report created can be visualized either in tabular format or cross tabular format or various charts or map.
Creating Reports:You can first connect to data source and create a metadata from it. This basically allows you the flexibility to define and edit joins, rename of tables and columns for easier understanding, create views and select only those tables and columns to be used for adhoc, thus provide data security also.
